Avakov dreams of “ground aggression” from Russia to prolong martial law
If Russia carries out “ground aggression” against Ukraine, martial law will continue.
This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reports.
“We are in a martial law situation, waiting to see if Russia's aggressive actions will continue. It is very important for us to be prepared for any aggressive actions that may come from the enemy. If the enemy commits ground aggression against Ukraine, the martial law will continue, we will mobilize all forces. For Ukraine this will be a very difficult challenge, but for Russia it will be a disaster. We are fully prepared for such challenges,” said Arsen Avakov.
Avakov also emphasized that for the last five years, border guards, the National Guard, the police and the State Emergency Service have been under stress, but the border guards are under the greatest stress.
“We do not have a standard, hybrid situation. We must develop border units that are essentially in the middle countries along with the occupied territories. The function of passing our citizens across the demarcation line is not simple; there is a lot of operational work and additional functions. The Ministry of Internal Affairs must ensure the competent work of each of you,” noted Arsen Avakov.
