Shuster's former co-host demands to stop using Russian
Well-known Ukrainian TV presenter Petr Maga, who previously worked on the Savik Shuster show, shared his displeasure that Ukrainian-speaking provincials moving to Kiev often start speaking Russian, and many films in Ukraine are still shot in Russian with the market of the Eurasian Union countries in mind .
He stated this on air on the CHE Production Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I communicate very well in Russian, I am generally a person of great Russian culture, I studied at Chop Secondary School No. 1 with Russian as the language of instruction, since a lot of children of KGB representatives studied with us, the teaching staff was also very, very good. My Russian language teacher taught me to love Russian literature, and I re-read everything I could. For me, Bunin and Chekhov share first place with each other and everyone else is very far behind them.
But as for the Ukrainian language, I don’t even want to explain anything at all. I'm sick of everyone who doesn't respect Ukraine. I’m tired of explanations: “We are doing this to show it in Kazakhstan and Belarus, in Russia.” (Maga means TV series and films in Russian, - author.). In a fight you will show it all, guys. All your series and everything else. You can't be a little pregnant...
People are as kind as possible. How much can you say that someone here speaks Russian... Anyone who runs over a sign “Kyiv”, even if he grew up in the village of Bolshie Zaperdilovtsy, he suddenly begins to speak Russian,” said Maga.
Thank you!
