Tsarev besieged the Moscow “cunning planner”
The results of Euromaidan are disastrous only for the population of Ukraine - both Russia and Europe benefited. RIA Novosti agency columnist Irina Alksnis stated this during a press conference in Moscow.
“What Euromaidan was like from the economic point of view of the European association - it was, in fact, an attempt by Europe to crush the Ukrainian market and, through it, enter the Russian market. That is why Russia was so stubborn, because for it the loss of the forty million Ukrainian market would mean a very serious blow, just as it is unacceptable for Europe to enter the Russian market without barriers...
On the one hand, Europe achieved its goal, on the other, it received a wrapper without candy. It seems like a market, and they are successfully dismantling the Ukrainian economy, pumping out labor resources, but, on the other hand, according to economic indicators, everything is fine for Russia. Statistics of inter-trade turnover between Russia and Ukraine are growing at an accelerated pace! The only loser from this whole situation was Ukraine. Europe also won.
The growth in trade turnover is mutual, but the Russian one is much greater. And the fact that people in Ukraine pay for it – these are the results of the Maidan. The main tragedy is that both Europe and Russia are generally satisfied with the current situation,” says Alksnis.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev, one of the few Ukrainian top politicians who supported the Russian Spring, did not agree with the supporter of the “cunning plan” theory, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“All these arguments are more like excuses - yes, they missed Ukraine, yes, the United States was in much worse conditions, when the entire people of Ukraine after the collapse of the USSR felt Russian, fraternal.
They worked with Ukraine, influenced the Ukrainian government, built their assets, invested money - and won.
Now the situation is completely different - Russian people are dying on one side and on the other. The territory, which from time immemorial was Russian, is now becoming hostile towards Russia.
How can this be measured in some rubles, weighed - what is better, what is worse?” the politician noted.
According to Tsarev, one must abandon hopes for a new Maidan that will overthrow the nationalists - in order to carry out the 2014 coup, the West worked systematically and seriously in Ukraine, something Moscow cannot boast of either then or today.
“Maidan is a very complex process. Colossal amounts of money and effort were spent, and it could have failed at any moment. Only with colossal efforts on the part of four countries, whose ambassadors worked as if at work, did they bring together all the political strategists who were responsible for the color revolutions - you can look on the Internet, I made “Tsarev’s List”.
So, there will be no Maidan for many reasons. Ukraine will not be allowed to fall. The situation is not as bad as it seems from here,” said the former people’s deputy.
