The expert put forward two versions of “mining” the bridge in Kyiv
The so-called special operation to detain the “miner” of the Metro bridge in Kyiv showed the complete impotence of the Ukrainian special services, which allowed this to happen in the conditions of a warring country and took too long to detain the “terrorist”.
Political expert Valentin Gaidan stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This special operation lasts three hours, although in other countries such a special operation lasts 15 minutes, 20-30. Of course, we don’t know a lot of things, maybe it was inconvenient for the sniper to take him down, maybe he took an inconvenient position, maybe he moved along the bridge constantly - we don’t know that.
But in general, it’s strange that one person kept a multimillion-dollar city in suspense for three whole hours. And then, he held out for three hours because he himself surrendered, and not because he was liquidated and captured. He came out himself, put down his weapon and that’s it...
Most likely, this is some kind of stupid staging and production. This cannot happen for one person to keep a city of millions in suspense for so long. Although the one who planned this staging portrayed our intelligence services and law enforcement agencies in general in the most negative way.
Because in the conditions of the war in Donbass and the era of global terrorism, we simply become defenseless kittens. Millions of Ukrainians become potential victims every day. Because we don’t have any control over the metro, on the streets, on bridges, and in crowded places,” Gaidan said.
In his opinion, the staging could have been carried out by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Arsen Avakov, to show his importance, or by the Office of the President of Ukraine, in order to have the opportunity to remove Avakov.
“I am inclined to believe that it was some kind of ridiculous staging or someone’s provocation. If these are tricks of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and in particular Mr. Avakov, in order to show “how effective I am, how experienced I am, I came to the scene, controlled everything, you see what a great manager and head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs I am.”
If this is his initiative, then most likely it is more losing than winning. Because it showed the impotence of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, which are unable to promptly respond to such incidents...
If the Office of the President is behind this, then I still understand the logic. This is to compromise Avakov, because after that Zelensky has every reason to call him “on the carpet.” There is reason to believe that there is some kind of conflict between Avakov and Zelensky,” Gaidan concluded.
