Experts: The purpose of terror against Tsarev is to intimidate the entire Southeast
Kyiv, May 21 (Navigator, Artemy Glazunov, Kirill Boyarin) – The night burning of the house of people’s deputy Oleg Tsarev in Dnepropetrovsk was supervised by oligarch Igor Kolomoisky and is intended to intimidate all potential opponents of the government in the South-East. Kolomoisky himself may soon receive the post of Deputy Prime Minister and expand his activities on a much larger scale. This was stated by experts interviewed by Navigator.

Mikhail Pogrebinsky, political scientist, Kyiv: “This is a continuation of the line pursued by the current governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region to oust dissent from the region. Soon he will be announced as Vice President of Ukraine. He clearly claims to be the “watcher” over the entire Southeast. He has already placed his man in Odessa, he has claims to Donbass, so now he is intimidating Tsarev. It’s hard not to connect these events.”
Oleg Rodivilov, expert, Institute of CIS Countries, Simferopol: “When I served in the army, we had officers in our unit who didn’t like the commander. They cut down his trees on the property and poisoned his dogs. These, of course, were unworthy actions, but they were done on the sly; no one could answer them. The same thing happened with the arson of Tsarev’s house. This is a vile crime in the Bandera style, especially now. Normal people understand: if you want to deal with a person, deal with him, but threatening his children, his grandmother, damaging his property - this, as they said in my childhood in my neighborhood, is not like a boy.”
Leonid Grach, ex-speaker of the Crimean parliament: “This is Kolomoisky’s Dnepropetrovsk terror, as a fascist element of reprisals against dissidents. It is a pity that people with a pro-Slavic and pro-Russian position suffer. I know Tsarev. It is clear that others are being intimidated by his example. You can’t intimidate him, after all, but it’s clear that others will behave more prudently. So terror in Ukraine is developing at full speed.”
Vadim Kolesnichenko, ex-colleague of Oleg Tsarev in the Verkhovna Rada: “The practice of intimidation and terror leads to only one thing - to a weakening of the state, increased tension and indignation, and, most importantly, to a real split in the state through large-scale bloodshed. This will cause a counter-reaction from people who will be forced to defend themselves. Nobody will talk anymore."

“The fact that Oleg Tsarev’s house and car were set on fire indicates that there is absolute chaos in the country. The so-called “witch hunt” is in full swing in Ukraine. They wanted to deprive Tsarev of his mandate as a people's deputy. The well-known Oleg Lyashko organized his own battalion in the country and is fighting against the citizens of the country. And this is considered normal in Ukraine, and Tsarev’s actions are not pleasing to anyone. Ukraine as a state no longer exists, Ukraine is now fragments.”
Igor Dimitriev, deputy of the Odessa City Council:
“The incident with the arson of Oleg Tsarev’s house suggests that all statements about national reconciliation, about a single country, are aimed only at the European media and are a reflection of political PR. In reality, there is pressure on dissent and oppression of political opponents.
Such actions occur in all areas. For example, the same Kivalov-Kolesnichenko law was not clearly repealed, but, at the same time, other laws are being issued that purposefully supplant the Russian language.
At the moment, there are several forces that will not allow the situation in the country to stabilize. The vanguard of these forces are the radical right. I believe that they are behind the arson of Oleg Tsarev’s house. It is worth clarifying that they need not so much Tsarev himself or his house, but the implementation of tactical developments, when they create pressure on political opponents, call them out in the media for retaliatory actions, and then apply appropriate sanctions to them.
Constantly testing the strength of political opponents gives them their results. Regardless of how the presidential elections go, in any case, right-wing radicals will attack, escalate the situation and try to come to power. Always, when the fascists came to power, they acted according to one principle - they attacked, escalated, and then came to power on a wave of protests.”
