Chief Military Prosecutor: National Guard rear officials stole and sold military property - from helmets to shoes

“Not strangers, not officers sent from abroad, but the head of the Central Support Base and the heads of individual warehouses for clothing supply of the National Guard, violating the oath to the Ukrainian people, during 2015 they stole, appropriated and sold “outside” military property: batches of helmets, uniforms and shoes, which, according to documents, were intended for units of the National Guard in the ATO zone,” he said.
“Yesterday evening, investigators of the Main Military Prosecutor’s Office, together with operatives of the Internal Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Kiev (thanks to the police officers for their professional operational work!!!), during the sale of the next batch of stolen military property worth more than 200 thousand UAH, they detained 5 officers in the hot seat - rear officers,” said Matios.
At the same time, the military prosecutor noted that “searches at 15 addresses continued for the second day in a row, 5 National Guard servicemen were detained, confessions were received during urgent interrogations, a total inventory of the National Guard’s clothing property was initiated and is being carried out at the Central Base.”
“According to the discovered material evidence, documents and testimonies of detainees, the military prosecutor’s office will have at least six months of work in this proceeding: lists of “buyers”, volumes of stolen goods, structures, laundering funds, and, think about it (!!!), those who sold Woe to the National Guardsmen, drugs. The betrayal was stopped, the suspects were detained, and the property will now go to combat units,” said Matios.
The chief military prosecutor also released a video of “operational documentation of the crime.”
