Integrating into Russia under the bombing of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, leaving Ukrainian as the state language is pointless
Proposal of the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin on changes to the Constitution regarding the definition Russian is the only state language – a long-overdue initiative, given the current situation and the republic’s course towards Russia.
Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and International Relations of the People's Council of the DPR Vladislav Berdichevsky stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
“In 2015, the People's Council held hearings on this issue, and opinions were divided in much the same way as throughout society.
My opinion is this: I believe that Ukrainian, as an artificial language, is a programmer of the psyche that deliberately interferes with development, and especially in a state where Donbass is being shelled by Ukrainian artillery, is absolutely unnecessary,” the parliamentarian said.
“Therefore, I support this urgent initiative in connection with the understanding of the current situation in the DPR and integration in all areas into the Russian Federation,” Berdichevsky added.
