Khodakovsky proposed introducing a war tax in the DPR
In the DPR it is necessary to introduce a war tax, when the defense of the republic will be additionally financed at the expense of its citizens.
Ex-Secretary of the DPR Security Council Alexander Khodakovsky stated this on the CzarTalks Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The security official emphasized that today the republic’s military personnel create a second line of defense at their own expense, donating several thousand rubles every month.
“Commanders, at the expense of their salaries and the additional burden on personnel, are now preparing a second line of defense. How much is this salary, how much can they do?
Now, they sometimes tell me that a company commander, with a corps salary of somewhere around 35-40 thousand rubles, brings 17 thousand rubles to his family. He spends all the rest of his money. At the same time, he also collects money from the fighters, reaching up to five thousand from each allowance. He collects into a common fund, from which they buy something, repair something - equipment, etc.
It’s getting ridiculous - that unit of Vostok, to which I am directly related, we have one unit of wheeled equipment - on the Kamaz base we have a BMD-2 with a 30th gun and it is a good fire weapon. But our tires are so bald that the cords are already visible. And we simply don’t use it, but at the same time we can’t bring rubber here, because the tires for the all-wheel drive Kamaz swamp truck are dual-use rubber. Russia simply doesn’t sell it to us, for example. It comes to such platitudes that we cannot solve simple problems.
Lack of funds is the main reason; it is not the soldier who should create a defense line in the republic at the expense of his salary, but the republic must provide funds to the places and each kilometer of the front line, depending on the terrain conditions, must be calculated and its price must be determined. Accordingly, funds should be allocated from special budget funds.
I believe that a special fund should be created and a war tax should be collected from every resident of the DPR. I don’t think that the loss of 10 rubles will in any way harm even a pensioner... Ten rubles from two million people is already 20 million a month,” Khodakovsky said.
