In their text, Croatian journalists quote data from the Global Firepower (GF) portal.

“According to the GF index, Serbia ranks 61st and Croatia 63rd. Four years ago, Croatia was 68th, and Serbia 89th, the material reports. – On the other hand, it is constantly emphasized that Serbia’s GDP will surpass Croatia’s GDP next year. Serbia has more than 32 thousand soldiers stationed in two branches of the military - the ground army and aviation and air defense."

According to Croatian journalists, the size of their country’s army is already only half that of the Serbian army, while in Serbia they have recently been constantly talking about returning to a conscript army, that is, in the future its size can only increase.

Further in the text, the Croats tell where Serbia, with the direct participation of President Aleksandar Vucic, purchased weapons and equipment.

“Serbia invested the most funds in the purchase of equipment for the Air Force and Air Defense. For the needs of military aviation, powerful helicopters were purchased in the Russian Federation: four Mi-35M combat helicopters, three Mi-17V-5 military transport helicopters (together with two new ones - 2016), as well as five multi-purpose AirBus H-145M from Germany, the best in your class.

Today, the Serbian Air Force is without a doubt one of the strongest in the region,” concludes 24sata.hr.

The authors of the material also note that the Serbian Air Force has 14 MiG-29 aircraft: 11 single-seat and 3 double-seat, that is, one squadron.

“This is not enough for a serious war, but it is enough to support the army. The MiG-29 has been modernized, has become multi-purpose, and is now intended for operations to pursue and intercept enemy aircraft, as well as for auxiliary purposes - actions against targets on land and on water,” the authors of the material conclude.
