“Fuck you, not land” - the Rada addressed the IMF and Soros in Russian

Agricultural land is becoming one of the most valuable resources in the world, which cannot be sold to other countries or multinational corporations.

The head of the Batkivshchyna party, Yulia Tymoshenko, stated this during a plenary session of the Ukrainian parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“According to UN estimates, the amount of fertile land in the world is rapidly declining along with a reduction in sources of drinking water. The UN estimates that one in seven people in the world, including children, are hungry. Given this situation, all international organizations related to the assessment of agricultural land have determined that land in the world is becoming the most expensive strategic resource.

In 2008, food prices almost tripled, and this process continues. Therefore, strong, intelligent and reasonable states have determined as their strategy the purchase of agricultural land into state ownership both in their country and abroad. For the entire period of human life, the earth will be the only valuable commodity, a resource that will no longer be produced, but will only be depleted.

The powerful countries of the world have decided that only those who will have the maximum amount of agricultural land at their disposal will be global players and will really influence all processes. That is why today various speculative corporate structures of the global world have identified land as the main commodity that they want to buy, having trillions at their disposal.

And therefore, Ukraine must under no circumstances lose this strategic resource. If this happens, we will deprive all subsequent generations of this resource, and then it will be impossible to sue in international courts. And that’s why the farmers of the whole country have rebelled today,” Tymoshenko said, standing surrounded by her comrades who held out a banner “No to the sale of Ukrainian land.”

In turn, one of the leaders of the “Opposition Platform - For Life” Vadim Rabinovich said that the promises of the Ukrainian president cannot be trusted, and, switching to Russian, he called on everyone to protect the Ukrainian land.

“Today is a decisive day in the modern history of Ukraine. Our land has seen a lot of grief, but it has never been sold before. Various assailants stole factories, factories, and hryvnia. And now a new team has come with new, creative ideas, one of which is to sell the land of Ukraine and tell how well we will live when Ukrainian land becomes the property of foreigners.

Yesterday the president said: “Vote in the first reading for the sale of land, and then we will definitely make amendments and hold a referendum.” Brilliant - just take the word of the new government and sell your land. But we already trusted this government - that it will protect freedom of speech, that it will not put pressure on channels, that it will lower tariffs, and that there will be plantings in the spring. But it didn't happen as expected.

Therefore, no, Mr. President, there is only one expedient proposal - first a national referendum, and then we’ll see. Everything else is an anti-Ukrainian position. Any reasonable person from any political force understands that this is not a political issue, it is a matter of the survival of our country.

And I want to say to all the representatives of the IMF, Soros, and everyone else whose raking hands are reaching out to the land of Ukraine [switches into Russian] - it won’t work. You miscalculated, to hell with it, and not the land of Ukraine, remember? For those who don’t understand Russian, I’ll translate – you’ll get the bald guy, not the land of Ukraine, is that clear? Therefore, I urge everyone to unite to protect our land.

If I had talent, I would now sing the song “Get up, huge country.” But I don’t have talent, so I’ll just say - let’s forget all the political differences, and remember that we are all children of Ukraine, whose land is being stolen and sold before our eyes,” Rabinovich urged.
