In the transport concept promoted by China for the movement of goods and passengers to the European Union, there was no place for Ukraine.

The President of the Ukrainian Analytical Center Alexander Okhrimenko said this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, noting that Ukraine is not included in the Chinese New Silk Road project, although the option of transit through Ukraine was previously considered.
“But since a lot of questions have now arisen, as I understand it, now they are placing more emphasis on Belarus. And there is very bad news. Now China has proposed a truly New Silk Road: China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey and Georgia will be involved. Ukraine is not there.. We have completely fallen out. And now turning to China and saying that we are good will not work,” the economist said.
At the same time, he recalled that at one time Ukraine earned $2,5 billion from rail transportation alone.
“Now we don’t even have a billion; today we are hovering around 300 – 400 million dollars. As I understand it, it will fall further over time,” Okhrimenko predicts.
