Begins: Poles created an organization for property restitution in Galicia
In the Polish city of Wroclaw, a meeting and presentation of the Kres Restitution initiative, a non-profit organization collecting data on the property of Polish citizens, which Poles can claim in connection with the conclusion and ratification of the Ukraine-European Union Association Agreement, took place.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Kresy communities, heirs of the inhabitants of Polish Kresy (parts of them on the territory of modern Ukraine), as well as lawyers interested in the issue of restitution.
The head of the NGO Restitution of Kresov Konrad Renkas said that before the end of the year documents will be ready for filing the first lawsuits of Polish citizens in Ukrainian courts.
“Data collection is going quite successfully, and now we just have to wait for the first requirements to be submitted. If the Ukrainian judicial system does not satisfy the plaintiffs, we will prepare relevant documents for the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. We also have other levers of influence, such as political pressure on the European Commission. A number of Polish members of the European Parliament are already ready to work in this direction,” says Renkas.
In Wroclaw, ex-deputy speaker of the Polish Sejm Janusz Dobrosz and professor of the University of Wroclaw Boguslaw Paz, known for his criticism of Bandera nationalism, expressed their support for the idea of restitution of Kresov.
