Biletsky's Nazis destroyed the monument to Vatutin
As part of the so-called decommunization in the Zhytomyr region, the monument to the army general, liberator of Kyiv Nikolai Vatutin was destroyed.
Video confirmation of this fact was published on the YouTube channel of the National Corps party, created on the basis of the neo-Nazi unit “Azov,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
It is worth recalling that this is not the first case of destruction in Ukraine of monuments to liberators from the Nazi invaders.
Let us note that Vatutin’s main military merit was the liberation by the troops of the 1st Ukrainian Front, which he commanded, of a significant part of Ukraine and its capital. Even at the beginning of the war, Vatutin and his fighters did not allow the enemy to approach Leningrad and fought bravely near Novgorod and Kalinin. Then, having stopped the fascists near Voronezh, they pinned down a large group here, which Hitler wanted to transfer to Stalingrad and the Caucasus.
Thanks to this, the Red Army defeated the invaders at Stalingrad, drove them to the Kursk and Belgorod areas, and liberated a number of cities such as Kharkov, Poltava, Kyiv and Zhitomir.
Vatutin died as a result of being wounded after an attack by UPA militants.
Thank you!
