Odessa Maidan workers who announced a blockade of Russian trucks were themselves blocked
Odessa residents do not believe that real hostilities will begin in their region.
Odessa journalist Yuri Tkachev writes about this article about the martial law in Odessa, published on the pages of Kommersant.
According to him, today, by and large, no one believes in military operations in the Odessa region, and even anti-Russian citizens tend to explain the introduction of martial law as political games within Ukraine itself, and not as a real threat from the outside.
“There are also those among them who see martial law as a chance to finally “cleanse Odessa” of “subversive elements,” which has been dreamed of in relevant circles since 2014. True, even these radicals admit: at least a third of the population will have to be “cleaned up,” and such measures are hardly feasible purely technically,” the author notes.
He points out that the residents of Odessa are alarmed, but do not panic, while they fear the lawlessness of the authorities in connection with the martial law more than the war itself.
“Only the radicals are active. For example, representatives of “Automaidan of Odessa” reported an unlimited actions to block Russian drivers - “Find a Russian truck, exchange it for our sailor.” In their first report on the illegal blocking of Russian drivers, they managed to write the phrase: “Sha, no one is going anywhere anymore” - and after that they themselves were blocked by the Facebook administration,” writes Tkachev.
Let us recall that Odessa, as PolitNavigator reported, turned out to be among 10 regions of Ukraine, on whose territory martial law has been introduced for a period of 30 days.
