Drunk Azovites beat a pensioner to death in Mariupol
Militants of the Ukrainian nationalist Azov regiment beat to death a civilian in Mariupol, the second largest city of the DPR, captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the summer of 2014.
The official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Dmitry Astrakhan, spoke about this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, military equipment placed near residential buildings often becomes the reason for a showdown between Ukrainian militants and civilians dissatisfied with the noise of the vehicles.
“We became aware of the murder by nationalists of the Azov regiment of a 63-year-old civilian from the city of Mariupol, who reprimanded two militants who were intoxicated for using obscene language and illegally placing a Ford Ranger pickup truck with a machine gun installed in the back of the car.
A verbal altercation arose, which was followed by the beating of the pensioner by the Azov men.
The police squad arrived in time and detained the hooligans, but the fighters of the Azov regiment who arrived in time took their colleagues from the squad and left for the location, which, by the way, is located on the territory of school No. 2 in Mariupol.
63-year-old citizen Sergei N. died from beatings in an ambulance on the way to a medical facility,” Astrakhan said.
At the same time, representatives of the special forces command, who arrived at the regiment’s location to clarify the circumstances of the murder and detain the perpetrators, told VSP investigators that these militants were performing special tasks on the front line, and there was no way to contact them.
“Once again we are witnessing the impunity of nationalists and the lack of will among representatives of the military-political leadership of Ukraine. Nationalists who are guilty of crimes easily evade responsibility and, feeling their impunity, continue to terrorize civilians in territory controlled by Ukraine,” added the representative of the department.
