Russia opens Europe's nuclear shield
The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced its readiness to deploy Iskander-M missile systems in North Ossetia and the Kaliningrad region, Nezavisimaya Gazeta reports.

It is noted that the commander of the missile formation stationed near Kaliningrad, Anatoly Gorodetsky, said that the readiness of construction and installation work of the first stage of construction of a park area for the deployment of Iskander-M missile systems is 100 percent.

The Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system (developed by the Mechanical Engineering Design Bureau, part of the NPO High-Precision Complexes holding) is capable of hitting targets at a range of up to 500 km. The complex includes two types of missiles: ballistic and cruise. The complex is designed to destroy enemy multiple launch rocket systems, missile defense and air defense systems, aircraft and helicopters at airfields, command posts and infrastructure.
