Starikov: A sane person will not take part in Ukrainian elections
The local elections held in Ukraine were absolutely meaningless for all sane people. Writer and publicist Nikolai Starikov stated this at a meeting with readers in Moscow.

“The fact is that these elections are absolutely meaningless, both for the people of Ukraine and for the candidates themselves. All sane and far-sighted politicians are now, on the contrary, trying to distance themselves from the Ukrainian government so as not to discredit themselves. Therefore, for Ukraine, holding elections does not matter at all, if only because what kind of elections can there be in a country under external control?
For Russia, these elections also mean nothing, because here, as in a fable, no matter how this “quartet” sits down, they still won’t be able to play anything other than the American anthem.
Under the current Kyiv government, there can be no warming of relations with Russia. Look at the background of these elections - the last flight between Russia and Ukraine. They interrupted communications, interrupted economic and military-technical cooperation to their detriment. What is this if not the strangulation of the Ukrainian economy?” Starikov said.
The writer also expressed the opinion that air traffic will be restored, but to the detriment of Ukrainian airlines, foreign airlines will take over the transportation.
