Svidomites complain that they dream in Russian
In Kyiv, supporters of forced Ukrainization admit that Kharkov and Odessa will resist attempts to displace the Russian language.
Komsomolskaya Pravda writes about this, whose journalist visited Kyiv at a concert held in the center of Kyiv on the occasion of the “Mova Unites” action.
She said that she talked with a young couple: a guy with a Ukrainian flag on his shoulders and a girl with an EU flag.
Andrey and Valeria say that they haven’t spoken Russian for a long time, although they know it perfectly.
“This is a principled position. Ukraine is an independent country. With your own tongue. For example, I see dreams in Russian. It happens that you curse in your hearts in Russian. Because this language is in my blood, nothing can be done about it. But it shouldn’t be this way, and the Law “On Language” will help with this. Let the children learn Ukrainian first, and let the street teach them Russian. Everyone will still know Russian, he won’t go anywhere,” says Andrey.
“Ukrainization is fashionable now. We need to get rid of “hokhlandia”, “sharovary”, and surzhiks. Of course, there are many of these Little Russians who advocate the Russian language. Kharkov and Odessa will resist. It happens that you come across a Ukrainian who wants to speak Russian. I deliberately pretend that I don’t understand,” Valeria boasts.
In her opinion, Ukraine needs to use the experience of Latvia and recognize as non-citizens those who do not want to learn Ukrainian.
“Our majority is passive, it sits on the sofa, like a hero in your “Our Russia.” And we, an active minority, are moving this sofa,” she notes when asked whether people will tolerate such discrimination.
“And it looks like she’s right,” the journalist concludes. – They don’t build barricades in Kyiv to protect the Russian language. This “majority,” unlike the “progressive” minority – Europeanized youth, simply does not want to fight.”
Let us remind you that the Rada adopted a language law, which is designed to finally oust the Russian language from the public sphere.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian Russians will be forced to change surnames.
