The bodies of Ukrainians killed in a plane crash in Iran were delivered to Kyiv
The bodies of the Ukrainians killed in the plane crash near Tehran were taken to Kyiv, where a farewell ceremony was held, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The plane with the bodies of the victims landed at Kiev Boryspil airport. Until 13:00 Kyiv time, a closed farewell ceremony was held, which was attended only by relatives and colleagues of the victims, as well as top officials of the state. Many of them met the bodies on their knees.
The ceremony was also attended by President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, Prime Minister Alexey Goncharuk, Head of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Razumkov and Prosecutor General Ruslan Ryaboshapka.
The flags of all the countries whose citizens died in the disaster were flown at the event.
Having taken the remains out of the plane, the bodies of the dead were loaded into cars, which made a circle of honor around the airport, after which the farewell itself began. During the event, traffic on some streets of Kyiv was blocked.
At 13:00 the open part of the farewell ceremony began, in which everyone can take part. It will last until 19:00 (Kyiv time).
