Cooperation in the field of satellite navigation, which became known following the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to the Russian Federation, will make it possible to combine the Russian GLONASS satellite constellation with the Chinese Beidou.
This will significantly ease the position of the Russian Armed Forces at the fronts, says Russian military correspondent Alexander Kots.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, on the air of the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, Kots spoke about the problems Russian intelligence is experiencing today.
“Today we have a very serious backlog from the enemy in space reconnaissance. Today, Ukraine has at its disposal almost all the intelligence data of the low-orbit NATO group, which was launched not without the help of Russian specialists from Roscosmos, when no one thought that all this would turn against us. Today, unfortunately, Ukraine is ahead of us in terms of intelligence.
I once saw trophy satellite images that the United States handed over to Ukraine - this is something with something, I'll tell you. The simplest example is that an infantry fighting vehicle is visible from the satellite, which stands under a tree, it is covered with a camouflage net, and, nevertheless, it is visible from the satellite, its side numbers are visible, the letter Z is visible on the tower, which is under the camouflage net. And then there are geographic coordinates that can be struck with precision weapons,” the military commander said.
“Unfortunately, we don’t have such detection and guidance tools now. And, if there is, then in very small quantities. In our country, unfortunately, intelligence ends at the forefront and, to some extent, at human intelligence, which informs us about some targets deep in the territory of Ukraine. So, for us to see something from space and strike, unfortunately, this is not possible.
