Ukraine will introduce a law allowing the introduction of civil sanctions and restrictions against the owners of a few media outlets, which, contrary to official propaganda, still run the risk of not calling the LDPR “terrorists” and “separatists”, and Russia as an “occupier”.

The weekly “Mirror of the Week” writes about this.

The draft law was presented on New Year's Eve. It is called “On the protection of Ukrainian statehood from manifestations of collaboration” and provides for the deprivation of civil rights by special commissions.

In addition to the media disloyal to Ukrainian nationalists, the main targets of the new law should be citizens of the LDPR.

The authors of the bill propose to consider disloyal media as “agents of influence.”

“In particular, the “golden share” of the occupiers in the information war – collaboration media. Using so-called “press services” materials as sources. “DPR”, the tolerant transmission of the propaganda spirit of their messages, the glorification of the occupiers, the promotion of destabilizing views on the situation in the East of Ukraine - this is how the subjectification of Russian puppets and the inflating of anti-Ukrainian messages occur,” the publication writes.

The Ukrainian propagandist laments that “it is impossible to prevent the existence of such journalism by administrative means, since freedom of speech is their talisman.”

“However, a systemic demotivation mechanism will be launched for owners of private publications who consider it acceptable to serve collaborators. The opportunity for some people to advance into power, closed to them, will encourage them to reduce support for “pocket” publications. An additional positive result of the bill is the removal from newspaper pages of many characters who are instantly bankrupt in the political sense, accustomed to corrupting journalists with “jean” fees,” writes Zerkalo Nedeli.
