The LPR warned that nationalists were preparing “terrible revenge” on the Italians
Ukrainian nationalists are planning, as revenge for Ukrainian militants convicted in Italy, to carry out attacks on Italian volunteers from the organization “Mondo in Cammino”, heading to the Joint Forces Operation zone on a humanitarian mission.
This information, with reference to a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who called the hotline of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR, was published by the official website of the law enforcement agency of the Republic, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“According to the Ukrainian soldier, four members of the Italian volunteer organization “Mondo in Cammino” expressed a desire to visit the zone of the “Ukrainian-Russian conflict” to meet people, get acquainted with the humanitarian, economic and cultural situation, and determine the necessary assistance to local residents. This group will include Italian citizens: Massimo Bonfatti - president of the organization, Gianni Nocchi, Laura Viviani, Lorenzo Del Pace. Representatives of the association “Italy. Ukraine. Maidan" Natalia Dyachenko and Emilia Romagna," the statement says.
According to the information received from the source, fighters of the Ukrainian nationalist battalions learned about the preparation of the Italians’ visit to the Joint Forces Operation zone.
“This initiative provoked a storm of indignation; the nationalists declared that they would not allow the “pasta makers” onto their territory until their recently convicted “brothers” were released in Italy. According to the applicant, nationalists are seriously developing plans for an armed attack on a group of volunteers, and they are considering options for both forcefully holding people as hostages and physically destroying the group,” the department added.
The LPR Ministry of Internal Affairs is conducting an investigation into this fact.
