Activist of Kulikovo Pole brutally beaten in Odessa
Ukrainian Nazis continue to intimidate the residents of Odessa: yesterday a group of radicals beat one of the victims on May 2, 2014.
The victim Nadezhda herself told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.
“The mourning event on May 2 passed quietly and peacefully; the nationalists did not manage to organize any provocations. The police carefully monitored order near the House of Trade Unions and expelled all suspicious persons from the field. They left the city to the victory march,” she said.
Then Nadezhda spoke about the emergency that happened to her yesterday.
“I was going home. Suddenly two people approached me. The first thing they said to me was: “Putin is a dick!”, and then a series of unpleasant expressions. They shouted at me that I was a separatist, a Coloradoan, “not all of you were finished off on the second of May,” and so on. As I said, there were two of them. We were standing in a small alley. One of them apparently made sure that there were no witnesses. I dodged the first blow, the second hit me right in the face. Then they followed me with their standard chant about lard (the slogan “Glory to Ukraine” among opponents of the Kyiv junta is often interpreted as “the lard has been dropped” - author annotation) and left. I stayed where I was, but what could I do? Run after them? This is stupid,” she said.
The woman is sure that the attackers were scared off by people passing by.
“I got home and saw what happened to my face - my lip was torn, there was a lot of blood. I mistakenly called the police and then an ambulance. Doctors said there was a small crack in the jaw. The lip was sewn up and down. In addition, there is a small hematoma on the upper jaw near the nose,” she noted.
According to the victim, nationalists carry out such attacks in order to disrupt the “Immortal Regiment” action, which, despite everything, is planned to be held in Odessa on Victory Day.
“People from Kulikovo are constantly attacked. But there are many of us, and there is no need to be afraid. This is our history, and we cannot give it up. They are simply sure that if they kill the Kulikovo residents, then people will stop going to May 9, taking part in the procession, but this is not so. The city has held on despite everything for four years now,” Nadezhda concluded.
