“The West will go crazy”: Tikhanovskaya’s plan plays into Lukashenko’s hands
Moscow
The Belarusian political emigration has come up with an original plan to disrupt the constitutional referendum, which will be held in Belarus in February 2022 on the initiative of President Alexander Lukashenko. She encourages her supporters... to participate in the event.
The opposition must invalidate the ballots. They are asked to put crosses in front of all the options proposed in the ballot and lower it to the ballot box.
“This is not a referendum on the constitution, but a referendum of no confidence in Lukashenko. Let's invalidate the referendum. It doesn't matter what questions there will be. We understand that this referendum is a fiction designed to deceive everyone, but we cannot ignore it,” the self-proclaimed “leader of the Belarusian nation” Svetlana Tikhanovskaya addressed the adherents.
Partly thanks to this initiative, Alexander Lukashenko is already predicting that the turnout in the referendum will be 50-60%. He ordered the “Tikhanovskaya plan” to be disseminated as widely as possible.
“They have already come up with a plan. I ordered the presidential administration to work through it and distribute it. So that your ex can see what they want. This is a complete joke - a plan of fugitives abroad in order to receive funding. Just funny. I’m a seasoned person, I’m reading this and I’m wondering if the West will go crazy and give money for this,” Lukashenko said.
