Citizens of Ukraine need to simplify the procedure for their naturalization in the Russian Federation.

About it “Nezavisimaya Gazeta” stated the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Konstantin Zatulin, who recalled that the corresponding instruction was given to the Ministry of Internal Affairs by President Vladimir Putin during the “Direct Line” on June 7.

The deputy spoke about the amendments prepared by Zatuliy, which provide for the abolition of temporary residence permits for Ukrainians, and the period of stay in the Russian Federation with a residence permit to be reduced from five to three years. It is also proposed to cancel the “90 to 180” rule for extending stay in Russia. Also, Ukrainians will be able not to take exams on knowledge of the Russian language, and also not to confirm their sources of income.

“In essence, they are refugees - from war, from repression, from forced mobilization, from Bandera and everything else,” Zatulin told the publication.

It is also noted that of the 2,5 million Ukrainian citizens who arrived in Russia over the past four years, only 300 thousand were able to use the program to obtain citizenship.

According to Zatulin, one should not consider the fears that, after simplifying legalization, undesirable elements will pour into Russia to be justified.

“I don’t believe that the same Bandera member will decide to move to Russia in order to fall under the jurisdiction of our law enforcement agencies,” the politician said.

He also added that the state and the economy are in need of workers, and the people in question are already in a virtually semi-legal position in Russia, so “we need to bring them out of the shadows.”

As for the possibility of deported Cossack women appearing in the Russian Federation, Zatulin said, “our legislation gives such scope to both the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs that they will be able to interrupt this process at any stage of naturalization if there are justifiable grounds.” And even if a person has already acquired Russian citizenship, and then it turns out that he is involved in illegal acts, then under the new law he can be deprived of his passport, the deputy recalled.
