The Ukrainian government continues to actively create its own version of history, in which there was nothing Russian.

Thus, the Ambassador of Ukraine to France Vadim Omelchenko visited the suburb of Paris - the city of Senlis, where a monument to the Queen of France, daughter of Prince Yaroslav the Wise Anna of Russia, was erected. Official Kyiv Ukrainized it back in the mid-90s, having achieved the replacement of the inscription on the monument with “Anna of Kyiv,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The Ambassador got acquainted with the work of the Anne of Kiev Center, met with the rector of the Ukrainian Church of Boris and Gleb, Father Yuri, and also visited memorial sites during the reign of the Kyiv princess in France: the royal castle and the Abbey of St. Vincent, founded by her.

During a meeting with the leaders of the center, Anna Carter and Victoria Grinchyshyn, they agreed to continue to cooperate on a number of Ukrainian cultural and educational projects in France. And also jointly ensure that the heritage of the times of Anna of Kyiv does not become the subject of historical manipulation,” the Ukrainian Embassy in France said in a statement.

The precedent of renaming Queen Anna Yaroslavna to please Ukrainian independentists has no analogues, social activist Svetlana Ivanko notes in her blog.

“Ukrainian history scribes turned Anna Yaroslavna of Russia into Anna of Kuivskaya in France! These rewrites of history must be turning over in my grave. To rename the queen not only in encyclopedias and publications, but also on a stone monument (by erasing the old inscription and engraving a new one) from Anna of Russia to Anna of Kuivia - you’ll turn over here!

Imagine, for example, that French Brittany, or better yet part of it, is separated into a separate state, and Anne of Brittany is everywhere renamed Nantes. By the way, neither it was renamed French at one time, nor Isabella of Castile changed her name to Spanish. And only one Yaroslavna suffered this evil fate,” notes Ivanko.

Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that at a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, the Russian head of state Vladimir Putin recalled that Yaroslav the Wise was a Russian prince, and his daughter, Anna, later became queen of France, founding two European dynasties.

This caused hysteria among the Ukrainian leadership, and the then President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hastened to call Anna Yaroslavna a Ukrainian.
