The Regional Electric Networks company cut off power to all mines of the state-owned enterprise Pervomaiskugol in the Lugansk region. As a result, 240 miners remain underground.

This was stated by the head of the Independent Trade Union of Miners, Mikhail Volynets, on the social network “Facebook", reports the PolitNavigator correspondent.

“As the chairman of the air defense of the NPGU of the Gornaya mine, Viktor Vidish, said, today the state structure “Regional Electric Networks” cut off power to all the mines of the state enterprise “Pervomaiskugol” in the Lugansk region. The situation is critical; even the lifting machines in the mine shafts are not working. At the same time, for example, at the Gornaya mine, 1 miners remain underground at a depth of more than 000 meters. Electricity is supplied through a spare cable only to ensure ventilation and pumping out water,” he wrote.

Volynets also noted that he appealed to the Chairman of the State Service of Ukraine for Labor Affairs, Roman Chernega, regarding the resolution of this situation.

“Such actions violate labor safety rules and can lead to unpredictable consequences. Now I have learned that the mine has included an emergency response plan, that is, miners will go to the surface through an emergency exit in the southern mine shaft using ladders,” he noted.

He later reported that at the Gornaya mine, miners were moving in the direction of two mine shafts - human and ventilation.

“There they will gather to move along the mine ladders, or perhaps electricity will be supplied to the lifting machines to lift people to the surface. After this, the electricity is supposed to be turned off again,” Volynets noted.

Let us remember that in February the miners went on a hunger strike at the premises of the Ministry of Energy.

In addition, in February miners of the Selidovugol State Enterprise also went on strike due to non-payment of wages.
