The decision to simplify the issuance of Russian passports to residents of Donbass has been brewing for many days and was made against the backdrop of the fact that during the five years of the conflict, official Kyiv has not offered anything other than blackmail and blockade to the LDPR.

Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“This story has been going on for a long time, this is a decision that was not made in one day, this is a decision that was worked out and, of course, when making it, we proceeded from the situation, as they say now, “on the ground,” namely, about the real state of affairs . Let's look at the moments and reasons that formed the basis for making a decision when assessing the situation “on the ground”. Of course, first of all, we are talking about humanitarian grounds, which require the adoption of exactly the kind of measures we are talking about.

Official Kyiv, the Kiev regime has been calling the residents of Donetsk and Lugansk “terrorists” and “separatists” for several years. Moreover, he does this in splendid isolation - even Western capitals and the media, which publish materials in unison with the official point of view of their capitals, do not call the residents of Donetsk and Lugansk “terrorists”, this is the know-how introduced in Kyiv by the Kyiv regime.

It is important to understand that the residents of the so-called Donetsk and Lugansk republics did not commit terrorist attacks, did not take hostages, did not threaten officials of official Kyiv with physical violence, and did not try to achieve political decisions through violence and threats.

People tried to protect themselves and their children from attacks on their own identity, on their way of life, on their language, from the imposition of a worldview alien to them, from direct violation by the state of generally recognized individual rights - freedom of conscience, thought, the right to freely hold their opinion, use their native language . And, in the end, people tried to protect themselves and their children from the coup and its consequences,” said a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman.

Zakharova also said that during various meetings she often hears reproaches addressed to Russia about the need to support people from the LDPR, who have already become de facto residents of the Russian Federation.

“Every time for many years, during such meetings, I heard a reproach against our country that the obvious need to support people who have already become de facto residents of our country, they do not see anything from the Russian Federation. My answers were always reproachful for the unfair treatment and assessment of the Russian position. I have always said that the humanitarian assistance, the political assistance, the moral support that is provided by Russia and the Russians is worth a lot, and, probably, without it, the lives of these people would have developed much more dramatically. These arguments were accepted, but I constantly heard and received hundreds, if not thousands of messages, messages and comments from people who live in Donbass, praying that their fate would somehow improve, and Russia would take a direct part in this.” , she noted.

“People in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine live under a constant threat to life and health, in fact under fire, without the opportunity to realize those very human and civil rights that we hear so much about from our Western partners, the very curators of Ukraine, co-sponsors of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, those very countries, states and politicians who for so many years inspired the Kiev regime to exploits.

Official Kyiv unilaterally severed ties with the population of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics, making the residents of this region de facto stateless. They were cut off from everything: from social benefits, from pensions, from salaries, the banking services system, they were, indeed, declared a real blockade, boycott, blackmail - whatever you want to call it,” added Maria Zakharova.
