The Swiss army is built on the principle of universal conscription. During the period of mobilization, each person liable for military service (this includes women) undergoes a 90-day training course, after which he returns to civilian life. Every year, before reaching the age of 51, those liable for military service are called up for training camps. In the first ten years of service they last three weeks a year, with further reduction to one. All these measures make it possible to deploy a 650-strong army within two hours.
According to Danilyuk, the large-scale implementation of such a program in Ukraine may begin in 2015.
Ukrainian citizens will undergo military training annually, the duration of which is still being discussed. The tasks and timing of the fees will depend on age. All of them will defend populated areas and protect particularly important government facilities. It is possible to train members of special sabotage groups.
Both men and women will undergo the IMB. For the latter, in case of health limitations, emphasis will be placed on medical training or civil defense, Danilyuk emphasized.
The idea of forming an army on the Swiss model belongs to Defense Minister Vitaly Geletey, the one who promised to hold the Ukrainian victory parade in Sevastopol.
