Moscow warned Poroshenko’s “pressuring force” that neither Volker nor Merkel would help him
The introduction of peacekeepers into the UN is possible only in agreement with Donetsk and Lugansk.
The head of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy, Alexey Pushkov, stated this on his Twitter microblog, assessing the statement of the President of Ukraine that he managed to “put the pressure on” Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the issue of the truce in Donbass.
“Poroshenko needs to discuss the deployment of peacekeepers not with Merkel or Volker, but with Donetsk and Lugansk. Without their consent, there will be no peacekeepers there. Neither Merkel nor Volcker will help,” Pushkov wrote.
“Our common task is to restore Volnovakha and bring peace. That is why, after holding negotiations with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron, we turned to Putin and “put the pressure” on him so that he signed a statement on the truce, which should begin on March 30,” Poroshenko said at a meeting with residents Kyiv-controlled Volnovakha.
