“Today we can say that the Bakal Spit as such will soon no longer exist. Entrepreneurs are extracting sand, but will we still have Crimean beaches after this? Will unique nature reserves remain?” - Kovitidi said.

According to her, at first the Ministry of Natural Resources listened to the complaints of Crimeans and suspended the license of the sand mining company, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“But later the term of this license was extended for some reason. Moreover, the procedure for organizing a new auction for the right to use the Yuzhno-Bakalsky subsoil plot in the Black Sea has begun. Regions do not ask when licenses are issued. This is important not only for Crimea, but also for the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. We ask you to stop sand mining,” Kovitidi said.
