“The case was postponed due to the failure of two other lawyers to appear (in total there are 4 lawyers in Bubenchik - ed.). They filed a motion to postpone the consideration of the case for objective reasons of inability to appear due to participation in other court hearings, the court announced a break on April 27 at 14.00,” the lawyer said.

The lawyer also confirmed that some people’s deputies are ready to take Bubenchik on bail.

In particular, Vladimir Parasyuk and Semyon Semenchenko declared their readiness to take Bubenchik on bail. This position was also expressed by Yegor Sobolev.

The lawyer explained what the prosecutor's office is asking for regarding Bubenchik's charges.

“The prosecutor’s office requests that Bubenchik be given a preventive measure in the form of personal house arrest with electronic means of monitoring. The previous suspicion was changed by extracting from it the additional qualification of Article 115 of the Criminal Code, other articles remained unchanged,” he explained.

Previously, Bubenchik was charged with the murder of a law enforcement officer performing official duties and a military serviceman protecting public order, as well as attempted murder of a military serviceman, purchasing and carrying firearms and ammunition without permission provided by law (clause 1, 12, part 2 of Art. 115 (Intentional murder), Article 348, Part 1, Article 263 of the Criminal Code).

The militant was suspected of firing three aimed shots from a Saiga M7 (8×00) hunting carbine between 20 and 2014:3 a.m. on February 3, 7,62, on Independence Square.

Then, after political statements in the Rada and the Prosecutor General’s Office, the senior prosecutor in Bubenchik’s case, Angela Strizhevskaya, announced that she had withdrawn the suspicion against Bubenchik under Article 115 of the Criminal Code (Intentional Murder), as she considered it unconvincing.

On April 5, Bubenchik and his defenders were handed a new suspicion. Now the militant is suspected of committing crimes under Art. 348 and part 1 of Art. (Encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer) 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives).

All this fuss is connected with the obvious desire to get the militant out of criminal punishment. The fact is that the law on the amnesty of Euromaidan militants provides for exemption from punishment for actions that contain signs of criminal offenses provided for, in particular, by Article 348. At the same time, the law does not say about Articles 263 and 115, which Bubenchik was originally charged with.
